Anthony "Tony" Barone, age 89 , of Monongahela, PA, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on July 3, 1926 in Sunnyside Gallatin , PA the son of the late Carl J. and Laura (Ross) Barone.

Mr. Barone was a local shoemaker, and along with his father owned and operated the Barone Shoe Repair Shop in Donora for many years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane (Trona) Barone.

Survivors include his children, Annette (Jim) Carr of Monongahela, Patricia Ann (David) Smith of Belle Vernon, Joseph (Teri) Barone of Monongahela and Carl (Joanie) Barone of Monongahela; grandchildren, Ryan (Tara) Carr, Allison (Ryan) Rodriguez, Chris (Melissa) Carr, Tiffany Smith, Michelle Smith, Jennifer Smith, Adam (Ashley) Barone, Matthew (Kim) Barone, Shelby Barone (Jereme) and Taylor Barone and Great Grandchildren, Matthew Carr, Kaitlyn Carr, Emily Carr, Cameron Carr, Saleena Rodriguez and Alana Rodriguez.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 4, 2016.

Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Damien of Molokai Parish at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Fr. William Terza as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA
