Betty Mae Mayernik, age 87, of Donora, PA, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Twp., PA., with her loved ones by her side.

She was born in Farmington, PA on June 4, 1929, and helped her family to maintain their farm until October 15, 1955, when she married the love of her life, Paul, and she began to raise her own family. She will be forever known as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Betty taught her children and grandchildren how to be a family by exemplifying her love, compassion, and support for them throughout their lives.

She was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora, PA and the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother Eva (Faust) Myers; and her husband Paul G. Mayernik on July 17, 2002, as well as a granddaughter, Crystal Dolan.

Survivors include her two daughters, Adele (Tom) McKita of Donora and Paula Dolan of Greensburg, PA; three sons, Michael Mayernik of Donora, Linus (Joyce) Mayernik of Washington and Timothy Mayernik of Monessen; 14 grandchildren, Luke, Noah, Clay, Nathan, Garrett, Nolan, Presley, Tiffany, Krista, Josh, Jacob, Toni, Kari and David; four great grandchildren, Kaiden, Logan, Jayce and Liam; also several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday June 9, at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Valley Church.

Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA
