Doris Swaney's Obituary
Doris E. (Smedley) Swaney, age 77, of Donora, PA, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Twp., PA.
She was born March 22, 1938 in Washington, PA the daughter of the late Harold B. and Monnalea I. McMullen Smedley.
She retired from Monongahela Valley Hospital after 27 years in the Cardiology Dept.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Roy J. Swaney; and a brother Harold L. Smedley of Virginia.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Julie) of York, PA and Charles (C.J.) of Donora; four grandchildren, Timothy C. Swaney (Elisha) of Donora, Nicole R. Salvino of Monessen, Kristy A. Crouse of Monongahela and Cheyanne M. Swaney of Donora; six great grandchildren, Steve and Alexcia Matinsky, Joseph Salvino, Kobe Stinogle, Kaiden, and Harper Rae Tatar; A very close friend of many years, Sandra Cook of Belle Vernon; also many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where A Remembrance Gathering will be held on Sunday February 28, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Fr. James Bump officiating.
