Dorothy MacPherson, 91, of Donora, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Born in Donora on June 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret McKenna Keffel , she was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley. She retired as a catalogue supervisor from JC Penny in Donora in 1985, and was a member of the JC Penny card club long into her retirement. She loved the diversity of music, everything from Opera to her favorite radio station WDVE, where she loved to listen to Classic Rock, Metallica in particular. She was accomplished in needlepoint, crochet, embroidery, and knitting. Dorothy also faithfully completed the New York Times crossword puzzle on a daily basis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James MacPherson, Jr., on April 1, 1994; and a brother, Elton Keffel, Sr. She is survived by her children, Peggy MacPherson Jacobs and her husband Jack of Speers, James Scott MacPherson and his wife Annette of Monongahela, Thomas MacPherson and his wife Barbara of Monongahela; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a nephew, Robert Keffel and his wife Patsy of Monessen; and a dear sister-in-law, Sue Macpherson of Somers Point, NJ. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation and services were private at the request of the family. Interment was held in Monongahela Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Anthony L.
