Eleanor E. Sweda, age 94, of Carroll Twp., PA, died Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at her home.

She was born August 29, 1923 in Monongahela, PA the daughter of the late Michael and the late Helen (Remen) Belback.

She was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora.

in addition to her parents Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Sweda; a son-in-law Robert Bowen; and a brother Carl Belback.

She is survived by a son, Nicholas (Linda) Sweda of Florida; a daughter Cathy Bowen of McMurray; four grandchildren, Lisa, Stephanie, Alicia and Ryan; seven great grandchildren, Isabelle, Cameron, Cullen, Elle, Anne, Max, and Andrew; two sisters, Helen Byers of Monongahela and Ann Stralenski of Washington Twp.; also several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 6, 2017, with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant. All family and friends are invited to join us at the church for this celebration of Eleanor's life.

Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA
