Elizabeth "Betty" Tomasiak, age 90, of Donora, PA, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Twp., PA.
She was born August 20, 1925 in Donora, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Moravec) Martin.
She was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora and its Christian Mother's and Women's Guild.
Betty was a graduate of Donora High School with the Class of 1943.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Tomasiak, Sr., on September 9, 1971; and two sisters, Margaret Tysak and Dorothy Summers.
She leaves behind two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew (Bonnie) Tomasiak, Jr., of Rostraver Twp. and William (Mary Ann) Tomasiak, Sr., of Carroll Twp.; four grandchildren, William (Tara) Tomasiak, Jr., of Baldwin, Sarah (Michael) Lesko of Fallowfield Twp., Lauren (Doug) Finke of Rostraver Twp. and Lisa Tomasiak of Rostraver Twp.; seven great grandchildren, Landon, Arabella, Trevor, Camden, Elijah, Savannah and Brooklyn; a brother, John "Jack" (Jean) Martin of Ohio; also many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday, June 15 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora, PA.
The Christian Mothers and Womens Guild will recite a rosary in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
