P. Jane "Janie" Ackerman, age 81, of Donora, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2026 at Mon Valley Care Center. Born in North Charleroi on February 19, 1945, she was a daughter of the late James D. and Kathleen (Spragg) Rebarick, and was wife of the late Harry M. Ackerman who passed away in 2013.

Mrs. Ackerman was active for many years with the Donora Public Library and the Donora Chamber of Commerce. She served on Donora Council for six years and for one year as president.

She is survived by a niece and nephew, Alan Ternent and Alison Ternent, a cousin Toby Perilman, and a dear friend, Nancy Johnson.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 1 p.m. at the Ohav Sholom Cemetery, where Janie will be laid to rest with her husband, Harry.

Memorial contributions in Janie's name can be made to the Donora Public Library.
