Patsy (Dino) DeBerardinis, age 65 of Donora, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 21, 1950, in Donora, PA, a son of the late Patsy and Ann Petrus DeBerardinis.
Dino graduated from Mon Valley Catholic High School and Indian River College in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Mr. DeBerardinis retired after 15 years with the State Correctional Institution, Greensburg, PA, as a job coach and a work study release program foreman. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Donora.
Dino's #1 priority was his love for his children and grandchildren. He would do anything they wanted or needed and always did it NOW. Whenever his brothers or sisters were in need Dino was always the first to offer help. With the most charitable, caring heart he helped so many people in need; he moved their furniture, cut their trees with his brothers, and gave them food and money too.
Also, he loved Mo-Town music and frequented many social clubs, especially the Cro-Club. There he shared a beverage or two and kept in touch with his close friends to see if any were in need. They, too, wanted to see if he needed help.
Dino holds many basketball records at Mon Valley Catholic that still stand; 1300 points in his high school career, 530 points in one season, 44 points in one game, and 29 rebounds in one game. Based on these records, his brothers admit that Dino was the best basketball player in the family!
Surviving are his children: Dena Colditz (Charles) of Stockdale, PA, Lisa Riley (Kevin) of Wexford, PA, and Brad DeBerardinis (Lindsey) of Belle Vernon, PA; five grandchildren, Carson Colditz, Michael, Darren, Reagan and Sean Riley; three brothers, Eugene DeBerardinis (Kathleen) of Cumming, GA, Paul DeBerardinis (Charlotte) of Donora, PA and James DeBerardinis (Donna) of Jasper, GA; five sisters, Josephine Bentz (David) of Whitehall, PA, Joan Crosby (Dayne deceased) of Monessen, PA, Ann Gaydos (Richard) of Donora, PA Rita Lambing (Dwayne) of Kennesaw, GA, and Mary Madeya (Mark) of Bethel Park, PA. Dino is also survived by 11 nephews, 7 nieces, numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews; Renee Bradish, a special, loving companion who provided Dino care and support. In addition, he is survived by a host of wonderful, caring friends.
Special thanks to Via Quest Hospice (Carol Soltes) for the loving care and comfort she provided Dino and his family.
