Phillip Pergola, age 78, of Monongahela, PA, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born May 15, 1946, the son of the late Albert Pergola and the late Lucille (Dusi) Pergola.

Phil was a 1964 graduate of Monongahela High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Clarion University and his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

A former educator, Phil taught and coached in the Ringgold School District as well as Mon Valley Catholic, Charleroi, California, and South Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances Dusi who played a major role in his upbringing; and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife Geraldine (Haluch) Pergola; two sons, Ryan (Heidi) Pergola of Monongahela and Kevin (Nicole) Pergola of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren Delaney, Gianna and a granddaughter expected in August; also a close cousin Jeri Pianetti Williams.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2024 and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 16, 2024. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday June 17, 2024 at 9:30 AM followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Site.

Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA

In lieu of flowers Phil's family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Food Bank or the Mon Valley Youth and Teen Association.
