Rita Sukel, age 89, of Monongahela, PA, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Strabane Woods in Washington, PA.

She was born August 22, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Vite Diulus and the late Susan Bulsok Diulus.

She was a member of the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish., the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary and the St. Francis Society. Rita was also a volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul Society in Monessen.

In addition to her parents Rita was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Sukel in 2017; her son Patsy Sukel in 2019; a daughter Regina Sukel in 1969; and two sisters Mary Rapp and Cecelia Dugan.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children Mark (Robyn) Sukel of Maui, David (Jayme) Sukel of Pittsburgh, and Rebecca (Jeff) Ruffing of Bentleyville; grandchildren Joshua, Sydney(Diego), Spencer, Cecilia(Matt), Jeffrey, Joshua, Jonathan, Jordan and Clare; Great Grandchildren Hudson, Isla, Capri, Benjamin and Samuel; and a brother Vite Diulus.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 23, 2025. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday February 24 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Pierre France celebrating with Deacon Al Poroda assisting.

Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA.
