William Kovalak, age 86, of Fallowfield Twp., PA, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the Residence at Hilltop.

He was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Charleroi.

He served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Kearsarge and received the WW II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen (Bliner) Kovalak.

Surviving is a daughter, Judith A Kovalak of Yorktown Heights, NY; and two sons, Brian W. Kovalak of Donora and Barry W. Kovalak of Fallowfield Twp.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 828 Meadow Avenue, Charleroi PA 15022 at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2014, with Rev. Fr. James Ragan officiating.

Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp., PA

A Parastas Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 2:30 PM
